Founded in
1994, Child Life-Line was registered as a Charitable Association by the
Corporate Affairs Commission in Abuja, Nigeria, in 1996.

of the Association is vested in a Board of Trustees which has three members.

Executive
Committee Management of
the Association is in the hands of an Executive Committee, elected bi-annually
by the Annual General Meeting. The principal officers of the current Executive,
elected on 18.03.07 are as follows:
President Mr. James Efekodo, educator, secondary school
principal. Vice
President Dr. (Mrs.) Jytte Oladapo, medical practitioner.
Secretary Mrs. Essie Gomes, retired executive officer
of Chevron, Nigeria
Treasurer Mrs. E. E. Wintoki, retired officer of the
National Library.
Aims and
Objectives:
Foremost
among the Association’s Aims and Objectives are the following:
To
promote the care, well-being and development of all children in need,
especially the deprived, the abused, the destitute and the homeless.To
create awareness among the general public of the existence of children and
young persons in need;To take
all necessary steps to promote the rehabilitation of Nigeria’s street
children, including the provision of hostels for the homeless, and, wherever
possible, to work towards reuniting children with their families.
Child
Life-line Centre, Ibeshe, Lagos State Since
November 1995 we have run a residential rehabilitation centre for street boys.
Originally in borrowed or rented premises, we moved into our own facilities in
Ibeshe in July 2001. At present the centre has accommodation for 24 boys.

Life-Line is entirely dependent on voluntary donations.
Government gives no financial assistance whatever.
